RSI Celebrates 5 Years of Community Crisis Stabilization

01.07.2019
Group of officials, community partners, and law enforcement stand in a row holding signs that read ‘Happy #5 RSI,’ along with logos for RSI, Heartland Regional Alcohol and Drug Assessment Center, Wyandot Center, and Johnson County Mental Health. They are gathered in a conference room in front of a projector screen, smiling for a celebratory photo.

Since opening in April of 2014, RSI has made a tremendous impact on the community. Five years ago, we were an innovative concept developed to help ensure that individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises were treated immediately, and given the proper resouces for recovery, instead of cycling through the jails and emergency rooms. Now, we are a national model for community crisis stabilization and a trusted resource for law enforcement and other community organizations.
