Power of Connection | Inaugural Luncheon
On October 20, Wyandot Behavioral Health Network hosted its inaugural Power of Connection luncheon at The Venue at Willow Creek, bringing together 130 community members for an afternoon focused on mental health, collaboration, and community impact. The event sold out before the luncheon and raised more than $28,000 to support Robert’s Place, Wyandot BHN’s emergency children’s shelter.
How the Luncheon Supports Mental Health
The luncheon highlighted how community connections can help build champions for mental health. Guests learned about the impact of Robert’s Place, where children experiencing crisis can find safety and support. Through a special fundraising appeal, attendees were invited to help ensure this vital resource remains available to children who need it.
Community Champion Award
Senator Pettey was honored with Wyandot BHN’s Community Champion Award for her longstanding service to Wyandotte County and her advocacy for mental health and access to care. Through her work on behavioral health policy and funding, she continues to use her voice and influence to advocate for individuals and families across the community. Although she was unable to attend the luncheon, her contributions were celebrated through a special video presentation.
Building a Healthier Community Together
The Power of Connection luncheon challenged attendees to use their voices, relationships, and influence to become champions for mental health. Building a healthier community takes all of us working together to connect people with the support they need.
Thank you to our sponsors, donors, attendees, and community partners for making our first Power of Connection luncheon a success. Together, we can turn connections into action and build a community where mental health matters to everyone.
