A Journey of Healing: Tanya’s Story with Wyandot Behavioral Health Network

03.24.2026

When Tanya first started coming to Wyandot Center a decade ago, she was struggling deeply. Life felt overwhelming. She was dealing with depression, a difficult divorce, and the challenges of figuring out how to be a single mother. On top of that, her daughter experienced trauma, and she also had a son she placed for adoption at birth. She didn’t know how to process any of it and knew she needed help.

At that time, Tanya faced many challenges. Through the courts, she was referred to Wyandot Center, and her daughter began receiving services from PACES. Initially, Tanya was skeptical and unsure how to express her emotions in a healthy way. Over time, with guidance and support from her therapist at Wyandot Center, she learned how to process her feelings and take steps toward healing. Having someone who could offer an outside perspective and truly listen made all the difference.

The support Tanya received had a lasting impact. She had consistent access to mental health care and a trusted therapist, who reminded her that help is always available.

Over the years, she has learned to cope with anxiety, face daily challenges, and navigate life without letting her past define her. She has gained a deeper sense of self-worth, learned to trust others, and realized that she doesn’t need to please everyone-just herself.

Tanya hopes her story inspires others to seek help for mental health struggles. She encourages anyone hesitant to reach out not to wait until things feel unbearable. Support is out there, and seeking it can make a profound difference. Today, she remains hopeful, working steadily on her mental health, managing anxiety, and trusting herself more each day.
