Robert’s Place youth Shelter serves children and youth ages 3 to 17 who are experiencing a crisis, including situations such as suspected abuse or neglect, running away from home, or other urgent needs for emergency placement or planned respite. Referrals for crisis placement are made internally through our crisis clinic, as well as from approved community partners.

Robert’s Place Youth Shelter opened in 2015 as a compassionate response to children and teens in crisis across Wyandotte County.
Serving youth ages 3 to 17, our emergency shelter is a warm, home-like environment for those who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other serious challenges. Children typically stay about 3 days while safety and care plans are made to address their needs.

Short Stay, Lasting Impact
Robert’s Place youth Shelter offers immediate shelter, compassionate care, and a supportive environment for children and teens while long-term safety and stability plans are made.
Emergency Placement
Children are placed at Robert’s Place youth Shelter during a crisis to ensure their immediate safety and well-being. We also offer space for respite care.
Short Term Stay
Youth typically stay for up to 3 days in a warm, home-like setting designed to reduce trauma and stress.
Care Coordination
Our team works closely with professionals and families to plan next steps and support a safe transition out of the shelter.
