Hand holding a heart that says support

When a local teenager began experiencing a mental health crisis, they made a brave decision and called 988 for help.

A Mobile Crisis team went to the student’s school and met with them in a safe, familiar place. The team listened, checked on their safety, and helped them create a plan with coping tools and trusted adults they could turn to.

The team also met with the family that same day. They helped them talk openly, understand how to support their child, and make a plan at home.

Before leaving, the Mobile Crisis team connected the student to ongoing counseling and followed up to make sure support was in place.

Because they reached out, the student and their family got the help they needed. This story shows that support is available and that reaching out can make a difference.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988. Help is available 24/7. You are not alone.
