About the Exhibition
Since 2021, stART the Conversation has brought artists and community members together to spark conversations about mental health through the power of art. Hosted annually by Wyandot Behavioral Health Network during Mental Health Awareness Month, the exhibition celebrates hope, recovery, resilience, and the diverse experiences of those affected by mental health challenges.
Artists of all ages and experience levels are invited to share original artwork that encourages understanding, reduces stigma, and inspires meaningful conversations. We invite you to explore the exhibition, support local artists, and join us in creating a more connected and compassionate community.

Who can submit artwork?
- Artists of all ages and experience levels are welcome to participate. Separate entry forms are available for adult and youth artists.
Do I have to in the Kansas City area?
- Yes. Artists must live within the Greater Kansas City community area to participate.
Does my artwork have to relate to mental health?
- Yes. Artwork will be reviewed to ensure it reflects mental health themes and aligns with the mission of the exhibition.
How many pieces of artwork can I submit?
- Each artist may submit one original piece of artwork to help showcase a variety of artists from across our community.
Will every artwork submitted be displayed?
- Artwork is reviewed to ensure it aligns with the mission of the exhibition. Submission does not guarantee inclusion in the exhibition.
