Housing Support Services
If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Wyandotte County, we’re here to help. Getting started is simple: reach out to our team directly, or get referred through a partner agency. From your first connection, we’ll work with you to understand your current situation and identify the best housing solution for your needs, whether that’s emergency shelter, rental assistance, or long-term support.
The Frank Williams Outreach Center is our daytime drop-in center for individuals experiencing homelessness. It’s a place to rest, recharge, and access essential resources. Guests can do laundry, take a shower, use the phone or computer, receive mail, and pick up basic supplies. Our team is available on-site to help connect you with housing services, mental health support, and other community resources.
Our rapid rehousing program is designed to move individuals and families from homelessness into permanent housing quickly. We help locate and secure affordable rental units, provide short-term rental assistance, and offer supportive services like budgeting, employment referrals, and tenant education. Our goal is to help people stabilize quickly and transition into long-term housing independence. Participants must be referred through the local Continuum of Care.
Beacon Homes, our permanent supportive housing (PSH) program, provides long-term housing for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness who have ongoing health or behavioral needs. This program combines affordable housing with personalized support services such as case management, mental health care coordination, and life skills training. Housing units are scattered throughout Wyandotte County and have no time limits, so long as lease terms are followed. Participants must be referred through the local Continuum of Care.
Our homeless outreach team works in the community to meet people where they are. We visit encampments, shelters, and public spaces to connect with individuals experiencing homelessness and offer immediate support. Whether it’s help accessing shelter, applying for benefits, or beginning the path toward permanent housing, our outreach specialists focus on building trust and opening the doors to safety and stability.
Kim Wilson Housing’s mission is to restore hope and dignity through affordable housing solutions in Kansas. Our team is determined to live our values: working collaboratively to rebuild our community where innovative practices create the permanent, quality housing that forms the foundation of health and prosperity.
