No. Parents and guardians may request services directly, or a referral can be made by a teacher, counselor, or school administrator. To participate in school or community-based therapy, the student must be enrolled in a school where we currently offer community-based therapy. We can take referrals directly from social workers at participating schools, or our intake team can offer community-based therapy for those eligible. If you’re interested while in an intake session, you can ask if your child is eligible for community-based therapy at their school during the school year and your clinician can help check eligibility from there.

Getting Started With Community-Based Therapy
Getting started with community or school-based therapy is simple. We work closely with schools and families to assess your child’s needs, tailor a plan to address their needs, and provide regular, supportive therapy sessions right at school.

School staff or parents can easily start the process by reaching out for help.
Getting to Know the Student
We chat with the student and their family to learn what support they need and what goals they have.
Regular Therapy Sessions
We meet with the child at school or in their community on a regular basis, tailoring each session to fit what works best for them.

"I had an extreme case of PTSD when I came here. I worked with a psychiatrist, a therapist and a case manager every week. I was too afraid to leave my home, lost all of my friends and completely shut down.... After a few years of working with this team, I found myself accomplishing more and more every day.
